Who Is Our English Advisor?

Who is Our Advisor?

Introducing, Mr. Khodzairie!

Greetings everyone. I am the man in the picture. Perhaps, you could lend me some questions?

What do you do for a living?

I am currently teaching the vast majority of the English subjects at the Almacrest campus. As of now, I am the only English lecturer on our main campus. It has been a productive journey since I started teaching in this lovely institution. However, I do notice that the current English club hasn’t been very active since the pandemic.

As the advisor, this may seem challenging, but I promise you, this current phenomenon is only giving me solid motivation to rebuild everything from scratch. Needless to say, the issues that I have been presented so far tend to be opportunities in disguise. This will not be an easy journey but my personal experience always reminds me that nothing that is worth doing is ever easy.

Will the club be able to cherish despite its current condition?

I do not want to sound optimistic but this club possesses a great potential that should not be taken for granted. The problem with local students is that they rely too much on others to make something great happen. This shouldn’t be encouraged especially among students who can outperform others.

What is the point of being the best if you give no impact on Sabahan society? Might as well live in a video game. This club consists of members who seek to inspire their friends to succeed not just in improving their language skills, but their thinking skills as well. To learn effectively is to think effectively.

With that said, this club can definitely achieve unpredictable greatness. Under one condition though, contribution towards society is a must. Without contribution, succeeding becomes an utterly meaningless journey. As the advisor of this club, I shall make sure our contribution can inspire more students to be productive with their existing abilities.

Should everyone take the English language seriously?

Taking anything in a serious manner may lead to higher mental stress. However, this does not mean that students should feel discouraged from performing their best. Stress is only good if you know how to manage it appropriately. This may take years to master such phenomena.

Language activities or lessons should be fun. People who learn while they are occupied with happy and healthy emotions tend to learn a language better. With that said, students who encounter failure in the process of learning should not feel so guilty about it. If you happen to be the loser, just remember, there are no losers in the process of learning. The mistakes you make are the ones that make sure you actually learn.

What are your hopes for the club?

This club isn’t made for well-performing students. The structure of this revamped club is strictly designed to break any form of discrimination between low-level and high-level students. If you are reading this blog, you know you are one curious individual. May that curiosity lead you to something even greater in your life.

To answer your question, I may begin by saying that hoping doesn’t lead to anywhere but a continuous loop in our heads. Execution is the key to success. Do you want to start something great? Outline that right now and execute it accordingly. You may have great ideas. However, ideas are only ideas until they are given life into your reality. Execute and experiment with failures. If you cannot handle failures, you cannot handle success.
